Thanksgiving - Quiet Weekend - Winter has Arrived

The week started as usual. I had more zoom meetings than normal but that's always fun. Several gals left for the week to families so it's been quiet around here. 

I'm still working on the manger sets with two more to go. I'll be home this weekend and most of next week so I'm thinking it's going to get done before they go in the mail for my buyers. Thursday I ate at the commons which was pretty good. We had mash potatoes and sweet potatoes and peas, with turkey and dressing, a roll and pumpkin pie. I didn't eat anything but both potatoes and peas, but I was fine. I had lunch before going over. 

I got a text that my RV'ing friends were moving in, so I went to their place after I ate. For the rv'ers that still read the blog the Herr's are here. I'm glad they made it, but they're taking off again on Monday in the RV. They have this place as a home base. 

Friday morning four of us decorated the lounge. We got the tree up and one of the other gals will do the manger and village later.  That's all the decorating. I've got my lava lamp, that's all I'm doing for decoration this year. It's simple and nice watching the lamp.

When I left there, Del and I decided to do a 300 piece puzzle in the laundry room. It took two hours for us to finish it. Once Christmas is over I'll get another puzzle setup at home.

I did all my Christmas shopping on line and saved $15 for waiting till Black Friday. I worked several days on what to get and put it in the "cart" as soon as everything gets here I'll wrap and send out. All done. whew. 

I did get a picture of the boys this week on text. They went to a football game in Wisconsin.

I went to the "Gates Building" another building on campus and saw this on the wall. It's so neat. (Click to enlarge photo)

Walking the path through the woods, this big guy stopped us in our tracks. He slowly went to the other side. 

Winter has hit. It's been cold 30's the past two nights and 50's during the day. It's warming up this week. We've had sunny days so that's nice. I've been watching storm chasers in Pennsylvania helping people out of ditches. Lots of road closures. I'm so glad I'm in the south.

Next week is December, almost done with 2024.
