Shalimar, FL (Hi 64 Lo 40)
This week went so slow. When you're retired the days get all mixed up and some go so slow you skip a day thinking it's the next day. The life of leisure. I missed Thursday thinking it was Friday.
I had a new comers meeting that was quite nice. Pastries and coffee at 9:30am is great way to start the day. Every year they have a meeting for those that moved in the past year. Most of those attending were really new one at 2 days, one the day before and a few in the past week. One gal is in my village had a few more questions after the meeting so I stayed with her to answer them. The meeting was to tell the overall knowledge of the village and meeting the staff. I remember parts of it, I have learned a lot and the rest was new to me that I didn't know about. Very informative.
Monday was mostly all zoom meetings. I'm taking a bunch of classes online and some are groups of people from earlier zooms checking up on each other from Jim's death. It's great to have a lot of support, we learn from each other too.
Wednesday was the residential meeting to hear what's going on in the whole community. Our new doors and windows will be put in as soon as the permits come from the county. That will be fun since it's so much colder and we'll have open doors and windows till they're installed, hopefully in a few hours. The whole village will have windows and doors before hurricane season next year.
Friday we had the community happy hour. The drink was vanilla vodka and pumpkin flavor with rum chata. oh was it good, sprinkle some cinnamon on top. Then a birthday party for a gal in village one and then I had NC chat. I love Friday nights with the NC group.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LU
Everyone is gearing up for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. I have all my shopping done, just ready to hit enter on the website on Friday next week. I'm hoping there's a good sale on all of it.
Friday and Saturday I watched the storm chasers with winter storm in the Northeast and out in California. I'm so glad I'm living in a no snow zone, at least I hope we don't get snow, it won't last long if we do.
Saturday afternoon the Emerald Coast band came to play. I remember them from last year. They're really good.
In one of the rooms in the commons someone has a puzzle started, but there's no box of pieces anywhere. Maybe someone wants to put it together but on their own terms with no help.
My side of the yard has a bunch of toadstools. I've been told it means great sod under them. I have no idea if that's true. Another week and next week is Thanksgiving.Happy THANKSGIVING TO ALL MY READERS!
