Church with Nephew

(Elkhart, IN) Hi 88 Lo 72 -- My nephew Dave, who has been Jim's close friend since their early teen years, is pastor of Abundant Life Fellowship, a small church in South Bend. This morning we made the 40-minute drive to attend his 10am service. We enjoyed meeting some new people, and we especially enjoyed watching Dave preach.

After church we went to Dave and Tina's house in Niles, MI so they could change out of their church clothes, then we went to lunch. After that Dave drove us around the area and showed us the college where he's taught for 15 years. This will be his last year teaching as he's retiring at the end of the year. They also showed us the cemetery plot they bought. It was a little strange seeing their grave markers already installed and engraved with their names and their years of birth. All that has to be done is engrave the second date, which hopefully won't be for a long, long time. :)
