Truck Maintenance

(Avon Park, FL) Hi 72 Lo 63 -- It rained all night and most of the day. We need it so we’re not complaining. It looks like we’re going to make another season here in the park without having to mow. This is the only park we’ve been in where you have to mow your own site (but the park does provide lawn mowers for loan). The seasonal sites don't have sprinklers so the grass doesn't grow much.

Jim took his truck in to get serviced today. It has a little over 50,000 miles on it so it required a transmission fluid flush, along with the oil & filter and gas filter change. He also had them check all the mounting bolts on the hitch. They found one of the bolts was a little loose so we’re glad we had it checked. That should do it for the vehicles and RV; we’re set to go.

We didn’t get out except for taking and picking up the truck. I started another afghan and it’s coming along fine. I’ll show it to the Hookers group tomorrow and let them know it will go to Linus Project next year. I also bought some baby yarn for making smaller afghans.

We watched a good movie this afternoon, Pope Joan. It's the story of a woman who disguised herself as a man back in the 9th century and rose up through the Church to be Pope. It's still unknown whether it was a true story or not, but most scholars believe it was just a legend. The best part of the movie was watching John Goodman portray a Pope (the one before Joan took over). After dinner we went to play cards.
