New Friends

(Avon Park, FL) Hi 78 Lo 55 -- We didn't know for sure what we'd do today. We were going to go see the movie Lincoln, but we noticed there was a technology class scheduled for this afternoon at the clubhouse. So at the last minute we decided to see what the class is about and see the movie tomorrow.

Before the meeting I went to get a lottery ticket since the Powerball amount is up so high. I don't buy lottery tickets very often, but I figured a couple bucks is worth the chance. The drawing is tomorrow night.

At 1pm we went to the clubhouse for the technology meeting. There were six of us but no leader. We called the gal in charge and she said the meeting is next week, not today. Hmm...there was a mis-communication somewhere. But while we were there Jim helped a lady with her new Nexus 7 tablet, and after that we walked down the street to help the other couple, Rosemary and Lee, with some photo management on their laptop. Between the two of us we know quite a bit about computers, but some things I can't do Jim can, and vise versa. We ended up staying at Rosemary and Lee's for a couple of hours. They have a 2010 Cameo fifth wheel just like us! We had a great time getting to know each other. We learned they're in the park for the first time and have been full timers for 14 years. They've been around the USA a couple times and have hit the most interesting places more than once. They're from Indiana, which is my home state, and it turned out we have a lot in common. It's great meeting another couple here in the park to do things with while we're here.  It's the first time they'll be sitting in one spot for six months.

We had dinner and just stayed in tonight. It's getting warmer during the day and evenings, so we're back in our paradise.
