Grandkid Sleepover

(Scott AFB, IL) Hi 87 Lo 66 -- A thunderstorm woke us up this morning at 8:00, so we got up. After our morning routine we drove across base to get our military I.D. cards renewed. We waited for an hour, good time to read and play games. There was a storm while we were there but it was over when we left. It's the time of year for lots of storms.

We came back to the RV and had a bite of lunch then left to pick up the kids from school. Their parents agreed to let us "kidnap" them for the afternoon and we took them to the St. Louis Science Museum downtown. It's a do and touch kind of place with lots of activities for the kids.

Here's the boys "flying" an airplane simulator. They flew over downtown St. Louis and both of them managed to fly their plane through the St. Louis Arch.

Grandpa checking things out with the boys.

The boys built an arch out of foam blocks.

A simulated tornado.

Grandma and the boys.

Eeek, a mummy!

Checking out a skeleton.

We kept the boys all night. When we got home we had dinner, then watched Karate Kid on DVD while the kids snacked all evening (don't tell mom). Extended time with our grandboys is always very special.

Was that really a skeleton or a Weight Watchers success story?

Nothing better than having fun with the grand kids. :c)
