Reading and Racing

(Naval Weapons Station, Charleston, SC) Hi 64 Lo 52 - Nothing special was planned so we both got up when we felt like it, which ended up being about 8:30.  Jim got up a little earlier than I did but not by much.

We both read all day long.  We also watched a lot of reports online about the tornado damage in North Carolina. Several people were killed and injured. There's so much damage and it's such a shock for that area. The last major tornado in the Raleigh area was in 1988. We checked with our family and friends and they're all ok, but our hearts go out to all the families who suffered losses.

I played Words With Friends off and on all day with different people. It's really fun and mind challenging, even with the help of the scrabble solver. There's still a lot of thinking to get the letters in the right place to stay ahead of your opponent. I also had several chats going with people from Raleigh and RV'ers around that knew we were from the Raleigh area. I also caught up on several blogs. Facebook had a lot of information too, with people moving around and telling where they're going next and more on the tornadoes and storms.

We watched the race from Talladega today, and it was a good one. I don't like the type of drafting they're doing, with the cars paired up two-by-two, but it seemed to be a good one today with lots of passing. We did notice there were a lot of empty seats on both ends of the grandstands. It looks like NASCAR is having issues with attendance.

After dinner I put everything away for our move tomorrow morning.
