(Wauchula, FL) - I'd like to say Happy Hannukah to all our friends that read the blog.
Wind and rain woke us up early so we knew the cold front had arrived. It started out 74 and was 64 by noon. It's forecasted to get to the lower 40's or upper 30's overnight tonight. We're thinking our friends in Canada left the door open and forgot to shut it.
While I'm thinking about it, here's a computer tip... Jim listens to a podcast of a show about technology, and learned about a site called "Readability." Have you ever been on a web site that's real cluttered with ads, or has weird colors that makes it difficult to read? Readability is a very simple tool that reformats it to make it easier to read. It's a real quick setup, only 2 steps. You choose your font style and size, and then drag a small widget to your links bar. When you're on a site that's hard to read, just click on the widget and it magically converts to the style you chose. It's really neat, especially for our "old" eyes (if you know what I mean). It doesn't work on all sites, but we found it works on most of them, especially on articles and other text-heavy pages. If you'd like to try it, here's the link.
At the beginning of each month I weigh myself to see if I've lost weight. I'm very proud of myself this month. I'm down 20 lbs from the time we started full timing. I had lost weight when I quit work, but gained quite a bit while in Goshen and eating all the amish food. Now I'm back on target and doing well. The goal is still to lose 10 more which shouldn't be too hard to lose during December. It would be great to start the new year out at the perfect weight.
We didn't linger long with our morning coffee, blogs, and emails. We took off for Sebring to see the new Harry Potter movie. On the way there we stopped at a Verizon store to have some questions answered about Jim's new Droid X, and to buy a couple of accessories.
After the movie we walked around the mall and I found a place to get my hair cut. Then we went to Homer's Buffet for dinner. It was only about 4:00, but the place was full of people. Homer's is listed in the Escapees magazine as the monthly luncheon meeting place for the folks at the Wauchula SKP Resort. We may join them now and then, since we're on their waiting list for a lot.
Another fun day in paradise.

Actually it's 35 here now. It was 53 when I got up this morning. From the looks of the radar our weather is coming from the US! LOL
I hate to admit I like "Readability" cuz it makes me feel old, but it really is helpful in some aps :)
Hey Dee and Jim,
Just found your blog and thought I'd pop in. My DH and I will be at Buttonwood Bay in Sebring, FL for Feb and March of next year. (We'll finally be retired!!) We stayed there in February last year, taking all of our vacation, and we LOVE the area. (Even though the weather was c-c-c-cold last February in FL.)
Up here in NW Pennsylvania, it's 20degrees and 'lake effect snow' is forcast for this evening.
