The temperatures are great, the humidity is still fairly high, but nothing like it was in the St. Louis area. Our son and family came around noon. The first thing we did was show off the RV, then we went swimming in the lake right behind us. There's an inflatable water trampoline in the deepest part of the lake. It's awesome. We didn't go in, but Laura, Rick and Joey did.
Jack is afraid of the water (like his grandma) so he watched from the sandy beach area.
There's a small island in the middle of the lake. Here's the little foot bridge that goes to it.

It was later in the afternoon that we made lunch of grilled hotdogs and brats with the fixings. Rick is checking out our Weber Baby Q grill.
There's also a neat playground. After lunch both kids took advantage of that.
After all the activities were over it was time to just chill. Rick is a soccer fan so he and Jim watched the last part of the World Cup final game while I watched Joey play a computer game.
Before they left we went to the see our park's resident peacock. It's in a pen behind the park office. We asked the park owner about him. He lost his mate a few weeks ago and the stress caused him to lose a lot of his tail feathers. So he won't be doing any "strutting" without a mate to show off to.
After they left we felt good that we'll be with the kids again this week and not saying goodbye like we have in the past. Thanks Rick & Laura for coming over for a great visit. It was a wonderful day!

Glad you enjoyed the RV parade! It's crazy how many different brands and styles there are! I guess that's part of why it's so hard to choose one!
Also, sounds like you had a wonderful family visit. We're really looking forward to that part!
Blessings,
Kathy
Aw...poor little Jack. He looked so sad watching the other kids playing. What an adorable picture.
Great family time together!! Looks like everyone had a great time. Poor little Jack...one day he'll be out there with the group.
It is lots of fun to watch the campers isn't it?? You are right, there are tons of different RVs and types of campers. Sounds like you all have a front row seat. :)
Take care!
