Pool Day with the Grandkids (Scott AFB, IL)

Thank you so much for the comments!  We've had some really good ones.  If you still have questions, please send them by email and I'll answer them.

We promised the grand kids we'd take them to the city pool today.  We left early enough for Jim to check out a new phone. He's wanting to upgrade to a phone with keyboard to make texting easier.  Both kids like to text us.  We do quite a bit, it's easier then calling and interrupting something if we called.  I love it, but Jim has to use the regular number pad which is very time consuming.

We didn't get the phone, he's going to order it online. It seems they add extra charges for this and that and it becomes higher price.  So much for going to stores.

We went to the pool and it was very crowded.  The pool was like a sauna, not cool at all.  About an hour later it clouded up and there was a nice cool breeze, but it didn't last long. There was no rain or storms so they didn't kick us out.  We had a great time and the kids were great.  There's five life guards and they really keep a good handle on what can be done and not done in the pool.  They have strict rules and by the way it was today, they enforce them.  There's  playing and  splashing, but that's about it.  No horseplay, no jumping on someone, no diving in the shallow end, and no tossing in the air.  It was nice.

Jim and Kendall
Then we added Kyle (to the right)
Kyle has learned to swim, so he's jumping off the diving board.

I even saw a gal I used to be a chaperone with in our kids' high school band.  We chaperoned for four years together. It was great catching up on what's going on in the area.  I'm so glad I remembered her.

We got back home and crashed.  The heat and the playing in the water did me in.  Not sure what we'll be up to tomorrow but the rest of the week we have things going on.

Well are you having fun? Sure sounds like it. They have ordered the parts for the jack and it should be here this week...The proof will be in the pudding.
