We had visitors coming this morning and I was up and ready, anxiously waiting for them. Sam and Donna came over from nearby Dardenne Prairie, MO. They've been loyal readers of our blog, so we made plans to meet up today.
Donna brought us a wonderful cake that she baked this morning.
We had a great conversation about their plans to go full time, where we've been, and where we're going. The kind of talk that most RV'ers do when they get together. We went for lunch to a local diner that served huge hamburgers and tenderloin sandwiches. Then after lunch we came back and had some more conversation. Unfortunately, Donna had to go to work this afternoon, so after hugs and see ya's we bid them farewell. Thank you so very much Sam and Donna for lunch, the cake and a great time today. We hope our paths cross again down the road.
We both took a quick "recliner nap" this afternoon and then I chatted awhile with Deb. Deb is on the way to Alaska and will be crossing into Canada tomorrow. I'm anxious to see how she does with her fifth wheel.
Doris and Herm were at an all day function today and she asked us to walk her dogs. Once it cooled down a bit later in the afternoon we walked over, and just as we got there they drove up, so Jim and I walked all four dogs with her.
The dogs stay by the door till they're all leashed. Zoey (Great Dane) Jake and Buffy (Akitas).
They go thru the garage door with Doris
Dee, Zoey, Charlie, Jake, Doris, and Buffy taking a break in the 90 degree heat.
Doris and Jim walking two of the dogs.
The rest of the evening was devoted to TV watching (Jim) and chatting (me).
I promised a recipe for Taco Finger Rolls in yesterday's blog. This is great for hors d'ouvres.
2 pkgs cream cheese
1/2 pkg taco seasoning
1 small can chopped olives
4 green onions chopped
1/4 green pepper chopped
2 TBS Jalapeno peppers chopped
2 TBS jalapeno juice
1 pkg budding ham chopped
1 pkg tortilla shells
Put cream cheese in microwave to make it easier to handle (1 1/2 min)
Chop green onions, green pepper, ham, and peppers until fine.
Mix all ingredients
Spread thinly over tortilla shell then roll up
Cut roll into 1/2 inch slices
Chill 1 hr prior to serving
This is fantastic. Thanks Doris for the recipe. We'll have to make these for our next pot luck.
