We got up and messed around till close to 10 to get ready for our move to Troy, MO to spend some time with my sister Doris and her hubby Herm. We had till noon to get out of our site and we didn't want to leave too early. The St. Louis Cardinals were in town for a day game and we had to go past the stadium so we knew we'd get into some game traffic. We pulled out at 11:00 after we dumped the tanks.
We were offered to set up Tumbleweed in the large yard belonging to my my sister's neighbor. When we got there we found out the electric is setup differently than normal. The plug is a 50amp, the power is 30amp. We have a power cord for 50amp and an adapter for 30amp, but our electric cord is too short and we need an extension. We couldn't find one at either Lowe's or Home Depot. We're staying at sister's house tonight because it's way too hot and humid to stay in the RV without air conditioning. We could run the generator, but why use up propane if we don't have to.
The flags are on streamers crossing a driveway of a boat dealer we had to pass to get back to where we had to park. The neighbor (Jim) held up the flags so we could go underneath them.
This is our setup, but we're not staying in the RV tonight. That's a cell tower behind us. The water and electric is beside the shed.
Tonight was the finale for Lost, so we bored my sis and her hubby Herm by watching the 6-8pm "pre-show." Herm DVR'd the main finale so I can watch it later. I'm going to miss that show, I can't believe it's been six years since it started. My sister has been watching Celebrity Apprentice so we watched that finale.
We settled in with sis for tonight. I had a lot of pictures to post and will do that later. We don't have really good connection even though we're right under the cell tower.

50 Amp extension cords are about $150 each. I would like to have one, but every time I have needed one, I couldn't find one, and when I have found them, I didn't want to part with the bucks, since I didn't need it right now. I think some of the Wal Marts carry them in their RV stuff, IN AUTO PARTS!!! Not in with the other camping stuff in sporting goods. Go figure.
If you want to borrow a 30 amp extension while your in Troy, let us know, Sam has one in the truck and you guys are only thirty minutes or less away. Don't buy one just for a couple days. It is number 10 wire and will carry an air conditioner. Hope to see you guys while your in Troy, give us a call or e-mail. Sam & Donna.
Like Sam and Donna said... a regular heavy duty 20amp extension cord will work if you put your fridge and water heater to propane, and don't run stuff like coffee maker, toaster etc. while the air conditioner is running. Run only one air conditioner (if you have 2) and shut off part of the rig to cool a smaller portion.
We waited and watched on Ebay and got a big 50amp cord when we first got the big rig, and ya know what? We never use it! LOL
