The Carolina Hurricanes won last night, 4-2. It was likely the last game we'll attend this season. I'll tell you some history. We lived in St. Lous for 12 years and really like the BLUES. We went to as many games as we could. When we moved to NC, the Hartford Whalers moved to Raleigh and became the Hurricanes. The first two years they were in Greensboro, NC while they built a new arena in Raleigh. It was a little more then one hour away so we didn't go very often. In 1999, they arrived in Raleigh and I got a job working at the arena during Canes hockey games and NC State basketball games. I did order taking in the club level. I did that for 2 years and went to almost every game. My knees started to give out the second year so we decided to get the 24 game package and had the same seats for every game. By the next year, we got full season tickets and we loved them. They were in the upper level right on the center (red) line. We can see everything and see all the plays develop. This year we split our seats with the couple beside us since they had a second child and it was hard for them to drive the 1 hr from their home. Last night was our last game for the season. We're not sure if the Canes will go to the playoffs, but my boss has season tickets so we'll be able to order playoff tickets from him.
There's a few things we have to give up along the way to get on the road. This is a downsizing of economics.
