New Neighbor - New Mobile Home - Party

Auburndale, FL (Hi 88 Lo 62) --  People are leaving the community to return north, it's getting down to just a few people. I don't blame them it gets hot here in the summer, but it's all in what you get used to.

The biggest news this week is we have a new neighbor. We have been here a year and the house next door has been vacant. A lady moved in from New York. She had to get everything out of the house in two days to make room for her stuff arriving. It was announced at the weekly meeting for anyone to come take a look and take something with you. She now has what's left put in the Florida room and her household is all in. I'm glad there's someone there now. A house deteriorates fast when no one is around, especially in the summer months. With no air or any kind of circulation, mold can start.

We were told a new mobile home was coming in about three months ago. It arrived this week. They barely got it through the main gate.  (Click on the pictures to enlarge).

It was put together today.

It's at the end of our street. I'll keep posting pictures as they work on it. Nothing else going on to watch, and we're retired so need something to keep to do.

I went to Marie's birthday and welcome to the park party this week. She just moved here from Pennsylvania and her birthday was about the same day, so a celebration was in order.

On Thursday our craft get together worked on a granny square quilt. One gal had over 200 squares and they worked on getting them laid out for a quilt. That's a lot of work.

I'm still working on crocheting for the craft fair, or orders that come in. I bought a book of crochet camping patterns last year  and decided to make something for kids to buy at the fair. This is a camper with toilet, cabinet, bunk beds a little rug, and pillow. I also made a canoe and oar to go with it. I'll add some trees and tents.

To show size, that's a qtip for the oar in front of the toilet and cabinet.

Toilet even has a silver flush handle.

I'm back to playing shuffleboard every Tuesday and Friday if we don't have anything else going on that day. I also love hand and foot card game on Wednesdays. We're in the summer routine adding movies to shake things up.

See ya next Saturday.

My wife crochets too, so I had to show her what you made. Great job.

Watching a trailer come in and get set up. Isn't it amazing what amuses us old folks?
