Shalimar, FL (Hi 95 Lo 76)
It's now August. It's a start of another month and getting closer to fall/winter, the worst months of the year for me. I'm glad to be in Florida, the heat outweighs the cold. It's been a busy week so let's get into it.
Monday my new toy arrived after waiting several weeks. I took advantage of the Prime sales and bought a Bluetti solar power station. It's charged to 80% so it's good to go. I got it mainly for hurricanes when we lose power. The power has been out several times since I've been here but not for long. I'm not taking any chances. I have a feeling it's going to come in handy. (Click on the photos to enlarge).
Monday: My neighbor and I wanted to see Sound of Freedom. It was a great movie and set on true events. Sad, so take a tissue. There's a message at the end that was informative try to stay to watch it. There were only a few people there, but it was in the middle of the day. In the evening I played cards then had the zoom meeting with the GBM group. We had another new person. There seems to be more and more with GBM, unless it's just I hear about it more.
Tuesday: I had my first physical here with the new doctor. I met him last month, but all he did was give me a lab work paper to be done. I don't have to go anymore for just the paper, I already have one for six months from now. I passed the blood work with flying colors. He said whatever I'm doing, continue doing it. I'm very low on Vitamin D so I bought some from pharmacy. I'm glad to get that appointment over. The only thing left is the dentist for cleaning and that's in two weeks. I'll be done till next year. I don't have the dry skin and dry eyes like it was in Illinois so feeling pretty good. I played cards and sat outside in the evening.
Wednesday: I had my massage and chiropractor appointment. I did the one hour this time so get more time on the feet and legs. I'm still having a bit of trouble with my neck, but they both tried something different this time and I've been so much better. The headache went away (arthritis in the neck) and it hasn't come back. (yet). I also was shown some new exercises for the shoulder (arthritis), so that's working out too. I went to meditation in the afternoon, then played cards in the evening and sat outside with the gals. It's starting to get darker earlier.
Thursday: I love the first week of the month. It's busier with meetings and today was the activities meeting with what's going on this month. It's going to be a busy month and I'm thrilled. I played indoor shuffleboard with a gal for an hour then met with another gal to show her some crochet and how to read a pattern. She can crochet but had a couple questions. We visited for a couple hours. I had some dinner then played cards and sat outside. I think I'll be doing that from here on. I'll play cards five days a week unless there's not enough people to play and sit outside with the gals. It's cooler in the evening, but when it gets better weather I'll sit out during the day and evening.
Friday: It's a little quieter today. I crocheted a bunny for the wreath. I caught up on some youtube shows then played darts. I had the zoom with the North Carolina friends that I do weekly. I love that zoom meeting. I watched a storm chaser chasing storms and a tornado that chased him in Missouri. It was very interesting.
It rained really hard one day this week and the steam was rolling off the road in front of my apartment. It was very steamy and muggy the rest of the afternoon.
My patio is full of mold on the pavers so little by little I've been working on them with straight Clorox. They're starting to look better. It's too hot during the day, so when the sun goes down I scrub them. It takes awhile, because the Clorox has to sit for about half hour. You can tell what I have left to do, but I can't do much at a time it's a back breaker.
Tidbit: I would love to find someone that's alone and loves the kitchen to fix 3 meals a week. So far it hasn't happened. I'm not alone not liking to cook. No one else wants to do it either.

Dee have you talked to management about the patio. They should have a pressure washer. Might help
You did have a busy week. I'm happy to hear you are healthy!I'm right there with you, Dee with the seasons. I LOVE summer. Next Spring. Not so fond of Autumn or Winter.
Great blog
I'm happy to hear that you are healthy!
It is nice to know you are keeping busy. I'd cook 3 days a week with you, but I'm a little far away!!
A pressure washer would clean that patio off really well.
