Auburndale, FL (Hi 78 Lo 61)
Monday: Our golf cart was picked up because it wouldn't start. In early November they had it and fixed a wire that wouldn't run. It wouldn't turn over at all so they took it back and this time replaced the key ignition. We were suppose to have it back Friday but now it's a Monday delivery. We want to start riding around more to look at the Christmas lights and get out in fresh air. Maybe we can get out next week.
Tuesday: I had my massage, a chiropractor appointment and hair cut. I guess I could call it a "ME" day. That's nice to do all in one day.
Thursday: We picked up groceries for the month and Christmas goodies. I didn't want to wait till the last minute to get things we really needed for Christmas dinner. We did buy a chocolate pecan pie, that's not going to last till the 25th, so will pick up another one for our dinner. In the evening we watched the Delta rocket go up taking up spy satellites. That was huge and the view lasted a long time. We got to see the first stage fall away and the fire could still be seen for the another few minutes. We are 75 miles away. (Click on the pictures to enlarge).
Saturday we went to Tampa Joe's restaurant with Lessie and Ed to eat lunch and they had a car show. It was a small show but they had some really good looking cars.
We had a lot of activity on the canal this week. For the first time a very long time the momma and child were right beside the house. The pictures are taken from our kitchen window.
This picture also shows the Spoonbill and the egret next to both alligators. They never bother the birds
It's about time for the pelicans this time of year and sure enough, there was a bunch that landed next door.
Then took a swim to the canal by us. It was fun watching them go past the window, not a care in the world.
I took a picture from the back yard by the canal looking toward the house. I have lights up on the porch.
Then another picture from the backyard looking at the lake at sunset.
We have a lot of Blue Herons, but this was on TV this week. Never in a million years I'd think one of those birds with skinny necks would eat a baby alligator. This is amazing.
