Auburndale, FL (Hi 80 Lo 63)
We're still on quarantine, but this is the last weekend to be totally shut-in. There's several places that's going to open, just not sit down restaurants that's what we miss the most. I ordered a couple more puzzles, but it's going to take time for them to get here. I did look up some puzzles to see how big they get and this one was the biggest listed, with 51300 pieces. Here's the link. It would take a big room to do it and a year of time at least.
I have three puzzles to do but this is my setup for 1000 piece puzzles.
I got out a little bit this week. I got a massage and groceries on Monday. Traffic is back to normal at least around our area. People are out more even it's to sit outside. I noticed I'm craving cheese so looked it up and I'm low on Vitamin D. I started sitting outside and sure enough I don't crave cheese.
Tuesday and Thursday I went back to hospice. There's only 3 people in separate offices so I'm still working on paper files scanning to the computer. We're almost done with the first set. It's so good to be back with people even if a few. There's no pressure so we're having a good time by "yelling" to each other in different rooms. I'll be going in three days a week for awhile. No more then two visitors and no volunteers allowed with the patients.
The only other thing for this week was abundance of animals in our back area where the canal goes into the lake. It rained a couple times this week which brings out several creatures. We have four baby Limpkins.
Here's two of the four.
Mommy Limpkin was nearby getting food.
The four alligators were in the spot that the turtles took over just an hour before this picture was taken. They all come and go out of the culvert. It's very active in that area. One of the big turtles laid her eggs on our side of the canal, but minutes after she left a black bird scooped one up and came back for the others. It's all nature, but it just doesn't seem fair.
I'm going to post on Sunday mornings instead of Saturdays after this week. There's events going on Saturday's and I don't mention them till the next week..

I realize it is the way of nature but I hate when eggs are laid and a predator makes a meal of them. I know one of our ducks was nesting. It's been long enough we should have ducklings by now. I found one egg out in the yard, smashed. Not only no ducklings but one adult duck is missing for 5 days now. I am sure it's due to the hawks also nesting in that area.
Nice to see you are back to volunteering at Hospice.
Nature can be beautiful one minute and cruel the next.
Be Safe and Enjoy the slower pace.
It's about time.
