Luncheons - Day Trips - Up in the Air

Auburndale, FL (Hi  90  Lo  75)

Just a reminder that we have a chatroom open to anyone that wants to spend some time chatting with others about anything. Click here.  We start about 9:00 pm  and run to 11:30 pm eastern time.

It's been a great week with something to  almost everyday. Saturday and Sunday I basically cleaned house and crocheted. Thanks to people on Facebook I've been given some great ideas to crochet and I'm making several things that have been suggested. I did get Minnie Mouse made for a granddaughter of one of the residents. Now to make another Minnie and a full set of both this week.

Everyone likes to eat out and this week was a good time with visiting and eating.  On Monday we went to our favorite seafood place Harborside in Winter Haven. We went with another couple for lunch, Sandi and Dan.

The monthly luncheon for the residents of Lake Juliana Landings went to Olive Garden in Lakeland. There were 24 of the gals that attended.

Kathy had a great looking Margarita but she wouldn't share.

The restaurant is on Lake Shipp with a great view of all the boats and activity on the lake.

Thursday I went with Linda to Winter Garden to take her dogs to a vet for some teeth cleaning.

While we were in the area we went to Disney Springs for the balloon ride in the air. It's a tethered balloon that goes 400 feet up in the air. You sign papers to say you're not holding the company responsible if anything happens. It's windy and it moves around a bit, but it's worth it.

The anchor and pulley.

The box to the right is the pulley machine and the "captain" behind it.

You can see Animal Kingdom and several other Disney attractions. The captain tells you all the areas that's around and since it was a clear day you could see miles out.

When we came down we walked around the area, it was totally empty of people and nothing was open. It was only 10am. We spent the rest of the day at Old Time Pottery. We picked up the dogs just before rush hour and the evening storms.

Friday we went to Sebring for my massage. I really like the gal that works there, so we took a day trip to have dinner at our favorite place, The Blue Lagoon,  and then back home. This week was great getting out and about.

Other things happening this week was a family of turtles on the bank of the canal. There's about seven of them.

Sandhill cranes have been around most of the week. They do a cute dance every once in awhile.

In closing a couple pictures of sunsets. Donna is watching the sun go down.
