(Avon Park, FL) Hi 84 Lo 67 -- I love the fast paced days lately. We've been busy again this week. On Saturday our yearly visit with Melba and her husband Ed came by on their way back north. They spend the winters traveling around Florida. I forgot to take a picture this year but this is from last year. We went to the Hibachi Chinese buffet. Thanks for stopping by, we love seeing you.

The strawberry festival is this week at Plant City. Every year we go for our strawberry shortcake at Parksdale Farms. We weren't sure if it was a good idea to go during the festival but we dodged the traffic and didn't have to wait long for our dessert. Harry and Jessica went with us.

We got tickets to the Southern Florida State College matinee for New Odyssey several months ago not knowing I'd have knee surgery. I'm so glad I could walk well enough to get there. This concert is great and would suggest seeing it. There's three guys with 30 instruments and they all get played at some point during the two hours. They're funny and the music is geared to the audience. We had second row seats. A man sitting beside me said it was his third time seeing them and no two concerts are alike. They were very enjoyable. (Click on pictures to enlarge). The pictures aren't real clear, but the website will tell a lot more.
They were playing each others guitar.
The drummer is hilarious. One of the songs he danced and dressed as Tina Turner.
The doctor appointment was this week for the knee surgery. I don't go back for two months. I'm way ahead of schedule for bending at 130 degrees and being straight which is perfect. I still have pain but he says it's from scar tissue. It will take time for it to heal. I bought a stamina bike which will help strengthen the quad muscle. I can also use it for the arms. I'm glad to be on the downhill side and just have to wait for healing. I'm still overdoing it. Next week will be the last of the nurse and physical therapy people coming. Then we move to the house.
Jim went to a Rays baseball pre-season game on Thursday. The temperature was in mid 80's with a very strong breeze so he didn't cook in the heat. He's happy to be in Florida this year to go to some games.
I've been busy with crocheting and the mouse book mark and the monkey are my latest projects. I also made a cork birdhouse at the craft class.
See you next week.

My wife and I love that bookmark. My wife crochets and has a loom she weaves on. You did a good job and I like the cork house, too.
Glad you are back in the swing of things and getting to see a lot of people and get out and about. Looks like fun at all those events - concert - ball game and the strawberry festival!
