Visiting Family - Winery

(Cherry Point MCAS, Havelock, NC)  Hi 72 lo 56  It's been chilly and rainy most of the time lately, with sporadic sunshine. On Friday we went to Jim's sister Sharon's place where she and her boyfriend Jimmy treated us and Jim's mom Alberta to a great dinner of grilled steaks.

Sharon does the grilling in her household.

Alberta and Jimmy.

Jim with Tux, Sharon and Jimmy's cute little Shih Tzu.

We had a great time visiting and being with family. And the food was great too!

On the way home we stopped at the river next door to the RV park to see the sunset. There are a couple of picnic tables on the riverbank, and if the weather was warmer we'd spend time sitting and watching the water.

Today (Saturday) we went to Lake Road Winery, about nine miles from the base. We didn't know there was a winery so close to us until Sharon told us about it. She and Jimmy joined us. We got to taste a few wines and bought a couple of bottles. Then we went to Newport visit Jim's cousin Bunky and his wife Ginnie.

Bunky and Ginnie used to live in Raleigh, NC and moved to Newport a couple of years ago. It's been a few years since we've seen them. Ginne made a wonderful Mexican dinner and we enjoyed reminiscing about the past and catching up with our lives.

Here's the latest critter I crocheted. It's a little Jack Russell puppy. He's only three inches long.

That's all for now. We'll see you in a few days.
