Lots of Goodbyes for the Season - Baseball Game

(Avon Park, FL) Hi 83  Lo 57 -- It's getting busy around here with all the departures from the park. It's the end of the month, so a lot of seasonal residents are returning north for the summer, and many RV'ers are leaving for their summer travels. Every day someone is moving out. We'll be joining them in a few days. We've heard many reports about the heavy northbound traffic on I-75 and I-95.

Every Monday there's a meeting at the clubhouse to hear about happenings in the park for the upcoming week. I've only gone once, back in the first year we were here. It's held too early for me, at 8:00am. This week a theater group called the Glad Hatters came to put on a short performance for us. Patricia, the wife of one of the performers, is an RV-Dreamer and one of my Facebook friends. We also play Words With Friends together. So I got up early and went over to the meeting to see her. We had met before a few years ago for a lunch in Lakeland. It was great to see her again. (Click on the photos to enlarge them.)

The Glad Hatters put on an entertaining show with short comical skits.

Jim drove to Jupiter on Monday to the St. Louis Cardinals baseball game.

I stayed home and said goodbye to a couple departing neighbors and visited with Vi next door.

Harry and Jessica left today (April 1). It was sad to see them go, but fortunately they're headed to Jacksonville, FL, which is also our next destination. So we plan to get together this coming Monday.

Today we had the last potluck meal of the season at the clubhouse. It was the monthly salad lunch. Every year someone makes something unique, like this Easter bunny made out of bread.

Tomorrow we'll clean up the truck, and Friday we'll do our last minute pre-travel preparations.

I've been working on a form of crochet called Amigurumi. This is some of my latest work.

A little penguin. He's only two inches high.

Two little cacti.

We'll publish our next post when we get settled in Jacksonville on Saturday.

We have a new feature on the blog. At the top right of this page you'll see "Follow By Email". If you enter your email address and click on the "submit" button you'll get an email each time we publish a new blog post. I'm not sure if you get the actual blog post in the email or just a notification that a new post is up, but give it a try.

See you in a few days at Pelican's Roost RV Park at Mayport Naval Base in Jacksonville, our favorite RV park!

We stayed at Pelican's a Roost RV Pack back in the first week of March. Great place. Plus my wife Bonnie was born at that naval base back sixty yrs ago. Enjoy.

My wife crochets so I told her about your blog posing and she is looking at it now on her tablet. She like what you have done and so do I, especially the food. . . I like to eat.
