Merry Christmas!

(Avon Park, FL) Hi 68 Lo 59 -- Merry Christmas to all our friends and family!

We remembered past Christmas mornings with our two boys and how much fun it was to watch them burst into the living room - their eyes as big as saucers - and watch them open presents. The rule was to not to open anything till we woke up, and not before 6am. Our memories of fun with the kids grow more precious the older we get. Now we miss being with our grandkids to see them enjoy the wonder of Christmas.

We exchanged our Christmas gifts when we got up. Jim got some clothes and I got an electric yarn winder. It's sure going to be a handy time saver. I tried it out and it did a 1/2 skein in just a couple of minutes. It seemed like it took forever to wind it by hand. (Click on the pictures to enlarge them.)

My sister Doris and her hubby Herm came up from Okeechobee to be with us today. It's the first time in about 30 years that we've been together for Christmas. We visited till it was time to go to the potluck dinner at the clubhouse.

The clubhouse was packed.

The TV on the wall was showing a DVD of a fireplace, and it added to the festive atmosphere.

After we stuffed ourselves we came back to the RV for more visiting. It's one of the best Christmas's we've had since we've been on the road. Thanks Doris and Herm for coming up to be with us.

We watched TV and chilled out the rest of the evening.

We have been following your blog, along with others, as we have prepared to start our travels. Thank your for all the hints.

It sounds like you had a very nice Christmas. I like the electric yarn winder. One of the skeins of variegated yarn, I was using yesterday, had the variegation backwards would have come in handy.

Wishing you both a Happy New Year.
