(Avon Park, FL) Hi 85 Lo 65 -- Thank you so much for all the beautiful comments of support concerning the loss of my mom. I appreciate every one of you.
It didn't take us long to attend our first potluck of the season. Today it was a salad luncheon. Not everyone has made their way down from their northern homes yet, but some of our friends are already here and we had a great reunion.
Jim reattached the rails on our new steps, and we both put up our sunscreen for the season.
The steps will be stored here at the park when we leave next spring. We're responsible for keeping the grass mowed at our site, and we didn't have to mow it the last two years because it grew so slowly. But it was pretty high when we got here on Monday, so Jim checked out a mower from the maintenance building and mowed our yard. It only took him about 20 minutes.
The rest of the afternoon I finished packing for my trip to my sister's. Jim's taking me to the Tampa airport early tomorrow morning for my flight to St. Louis. I'll be gone a little over two weeks, so Jim will be a "bachelor" during that time. He'll stay busy, and he'll watch a lot of sports while I'm gone.
I'll include updates on my activities in Missouri the next couple of weeks, and Jim will report the goings on here in the park.
