Will We Ever See the Sun Again?

(Havelock, NC) 72 Lo 69 -- It's still drizzly and cloudy. We haven't seen much sun in over a week. I'm ready for some nice warm sun.

We headed to Jim's mom, who lives about a half hour away in Morehead City. Jim's sister joined us there for lunch. We visited for a few hours, and while we watched some TV I crocheted and finally got my shawl done. I have to admit, it's not too bad. I still need some help with following a pattern. I ended up winging it and basically made up my own pattern. This shawl will stay in the car for those cold restaurants and movie theaters thru the summer.

On the way back home we stopped at the Marine Exchange and bought a Nexus 7 tablet. When we go sightseeing I drive and Jim does all the navigating using his smart phone. We got the 7-inch tablet to give him a larger screen to see the map better. When we need to use the internet all we have to do is activate the hot spot feature on one of our phones and wirelessly connect the Nexus 7 to it.

After dinner Jim settled in to watch the Cardinals playoff game. I'm going to start a new crochet project, once I decide what that project is. :)

The shawl looks beautiful. You really need something to keep you comfortable as restaurants seems to keep the air conditioning at a high level, probably to accommodate the servers who are hustling.

Don't worry about seeing the sun and just enjoy the cool rain. I have a feeling next summer will be a humdinger and you will be longing for rain! That may depend on where you are, of course.

depending how you look at it, the shawl looks like a bunch of people holding hands, or chinese symbols, or butterflies.....good job. I always ask for the warmest table in the restaurant, all servers know which ones those are. sinc we have an older clientele only a few spots in restaurant are cold, we sweat. GO CARDS!!!!
