(Avon Park, FL) Hi 72 Lo 60 -- Perfect weather at the moment, but it's windy and from the northwest, so it's going to be cold the next couple days then back to 80's. This has been a strange spring so far for Florida. We don't remember this many cold snaps in March even back when we were stationed here in the Air Force.
Today Jim worked on planning our summer travels. We're adapting more and more to the "no reservations" lifestyle, trying to just wing it more as far as campground stays. We do sometimes have to make reservations, such as for the famcamp at Scott AFB, IL. That's our home base when see the grand kids. Like most military campground they tend to stay full. Very tentative plans right now are for us to spend about six weeks in Illinois, split between the St. Louis area (Scott AFB) and Homewood, just south of Chicago. That's the homes of our two sons and the grand kids. After that we're making our way across Indiana and Ohio, then some visits with friends in Pennsylvania. Then it's on to New England, upstate New York, and back down the east coast to North Carolina to see Jim's family. By then it'll be time for the Carolina Clan rally in Huntington Beach State Park, SC, then back to Florida. We've never been to the New England states, so we're really looking forward to that. Should be a fun summer!
We both did our walk and Jim did the laundry. I crocheted a potholder to be sure I remembered how to do it. I also did some computer games, but that took the whole afternoon. Jim grilled some ribs tonight before going to play cards.
Today was a fun day. We both enjoy planning our trips. I just hope there's no more snow when we get to the midwest. :)
One thing I'd like to mention to those of you who leave comments. First of all, thanks for commenting. It thrills us to get feedback. If you have a specific question for us, please send an email to one of us. We promise to reply quickly, usually the same day. That's much quicker than depending on us to answer a question in the comments. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org, and Jim's is email@example.com. Thanks.
