Racing is Back, Sunday, Sunday!

(Avon Park, FL) Hi 85 Lo 65 -- It was beautiful today so no jacket needed for church today.

We came home and settled in for the Daytona 500. Sundays are now all about racing. When we were younger (and had more money) we'd go to several NASCAR races per year. I still wouldn't mind going to a smaller track like Martinsville, maybe even in the RV. It would be nice to be next to the track for three or four days and be able to sleep in our own bed each night. But there's usually no hookups, and we've heard there's a lot of partying through the night. Who knows, we might try it once someday.

Jim was rooting for Danica and I was rooting for Jeff Gordon. Neither of our drivers won, but Danica finished 8th which isn't bad for a rookie. She also led some laps, a first at Daytona for a female. It's great to have racing back!

This evening we're watching the Oscars while I crochet and chat in the chat room.

It was so fun to see Danica lead a lap today. She drove a great race and stayed out of trouble. We were rooting for Dale Jr.

I too was pulling for Denica. She does not hold a candle to some of the women drivers in the Dallas area...bit I guess she will due.
