(Beaufort, NC) Hi 67 Lo 51 -- When I checked my emails this morning I received one from long time readers Cyndi and Ronnie. They're in the area and wanted to meet us. They recently sold their home in Willow Springs, NC and are shopping for a full time quality motorhome. They currently have a fifth wheel that they've been using for extended summer vacations. We agreed to meet in Morehead City for lunch.
Ronnie and Cyndi
We spent three hours getting to know each other. They go back and forth between Willow Springs and Cedar Point, which is about 20 miles from here. In the past they've been to many places around the country, their favorite being Crater Lake, OR. It was fun to hear of their travels and share our experiences. They're very excited about going full time, which they plan to do when their home sale closes in November. Thanks Cyndi and Ronnie for contacting us. (And thanks also for the wonderful fruit basket.) It was great meeting you, and we’re hoping to see you again.
We had some questions from yesterday's blog about the turducken we had for dinner last night. I forgot to take a picture of it when it came out of the oven, so I thought I'd take a couple of pictures today of the leftovers. We liked it, but it's not something we’d buy on our own. I thought it was a little dry and too salty, but it was a nice experience to try it. And the leftovers make great sandwiches, especially with some mayo on them. :)
Jim got out the grill this evening and cooked up some boneless pork ribs we had, and some steak filets that Sharon brought over. Add some baked potatoes and garlic bread, and it was a yummy dinner. After visiting with Sharon and Jim for awhile after dinner we came back to the RV for the rest of the evening.
It was a wonderful day, made even better by the opportunity to meet new friends.
