Plans were made at yesterday's happy hour to have a crab boil today. One of the residents drove to Betty's "source" and picked up several dozen crabs, and at 3:00 they heated up the big pot. There was a problem was the regulator on the propane tank, so Betty and another guy went to buy a new regulator, which delayed dinner for about an hour.
The gang watches the pot boil.

This was taken before the water started boiling.

Betty is ready for crabs.

They boiled a batch without the spicy seasoning for me and another guy. I'm holding my plate of six crabs.

They look right at you.

I’m taste testing to make sure they’re not spicy hot.

Everyone dove in. Eating boiled crabs is a lot of work, and messy!

Big plate of crabs. The meat is delicious!

We all had different skill levels for getting the meat out, but we had a great time socializing. We also had potatoes and corn on the cob, and chocolate cake for dessert.
The cleanup was quick, just roll up the newspapers and dump everything in the trash.

We stayed till the mosquitos showed up and then we all left for home. What a wonderful day. We’re making new friends and eating well. Have we mentioned lately this lifestyle is fabulous!

Looks like you are having s great time. Sorry I'm one of those that can't eat anything staring back at me, I never get whole fish for that reason...feel as though I have to
apologize to them for killing them.
