Beach Time

(Mayport Naval Station, Jacksonville, FL)  Hi 77 Lo 66 -- The storms that came through our area last night  weren't as bad as we thought they'd be. The system had some tornadoes as it went through the south, but it lost a lot of its punch by the time it got to us, thank goodness.

It turned into a nice warm, clear day by mid-morning, although a little windy. But it was a nice day to spend some time on the beach.

It was a busy day on the St. John's River. Several Navy ships came in and out of port.

Neither of us did very much today. The RV repair guy we met yesterday came about 5:00 to re-seal some spots on the roof and around the sides. He ended up having to use a flashlight before he finished up. Jim kept a close eye on him and he's very satisfied with the work he did.

One final ship picture... This Carnival ship leaves the Jax port once a week. You can actually hear the caribbean music on board as it floats by. Sure does look like fun!
