Afternoon with Sister - Back Home

(Scott AFB, IL) Hi 61 Lo 47 -- Decent day, but it sure was chilly. Cindy and Ken welcomed us to stay in their guest room last night. We got up this morning when we heard stirring downstairs. Ken cooked a great breakfast of scrambled eggs and his famous fried potatoes and ham, which were yummy! We enjoyed the good food and fellowship with Cindy and Ken, and their son Kyle and daughter-in-law Jenny.

We spent a couple hours socializing after breakfast, then left to go to Troy, MO to visit my sister Doris and brother-in-law Herm. We got there a little after 12 and she was preparing home made Fiesta Beef Enchiladas for lunch.  While they were baking in the oven Doris and I got caught up while the guys switched back and forth between the Cardinals baseball game and the NASCAR race on TV. Doris and Jim have their birthdays on the same day, which was Thursday the 22nd. So for a late celebration Doris bought a chocolate and vanilla ice cream cake, which we enjoyed after her scrumptious lunch. We've probably gained ten pounds this weekend, and we're loving it!

Yum! Ice cream cake.

We had a wonderful time this weekend and loved every minute. When we got home at nightfall the RV was quite chilly, so we turned on the heat pump for the first time this fall. It was soon quite toasty inside. Thank you Ken, Cindy, Doris and Herm for a great weekend and your wonderful hospitality!

never realized before how much you and your sister look alike.
Did you wave as you went past our exit?

Happy belated birthday to both Jim and Doris. Sounds like you had a great visit. We're not missing the cold, in fact we have been baking. The temperature inside Sherman and outside in the shade is 100F it's a little hot but we are loving it.
