Perth, Ontario and Surrounding Towns

(Smiths Falls, Ontario, Canada) Hi 77 Lo 61, Rain off and on -- We had a storm that took out the park wi-fi last night, so we both watched TV shows and worked on spreadsheets or photos to pass the time.  Jim went to the office first thing this morning and had the them reset the system, which fixed the problem.  We both then got caught up on blogs, news, and and emails.

Jim is recovering well from his tooth extraction yesterday. He's had very little pain, and he slept well last night. He's very pleased on how well it went.

Mid-morning we went out to get a few groceries, and then to Wal-Mart for a few things. They don't have a super Wal-Mart here so we couldn't get everything in one stop. After some lunch and a stop at home to drop off the groceries we went over to Sandra and Gordon’s. They took us on another tour of the area, this time to the nearby town of Perth.

We also drove around the small town of Balderson, where we stopped at an Amish store. It was a furniture store that had a small cheese shop attached to it. It reminded us of our travels through Amish country in Pennsylvania and Indiana. Sandra and I also browsed around a ladies fashion store, which bored the guys. :)

This pretty barn was nearby, so Jim grabbed his camera and got a shot.

We drove around the countryside for awhile, going in and out of rain. It was getting near time for dinner so we headed back. Traffic was heavy today, guess everybody is getting a head start on the weekend. Our RV park is starting to fill up too.  We’re retired and sometimes lose track of what day it is, but we can always tell when the weekend comes by the increase in activity around us. For more info about today, please see Sandra's blog.

Tomorrow will be a big day and another city. We’re hoping for no rain.

Sounds like you're having a great time. Glad Jim did well with the tooth extraction. REALLY like the barn picture. I love pictures of old buildings, but especially barns.
