Arriving in St.Louis

(St.Louis, MO) Hi 70 Lo 56 -- It was a very early start this morning, but at least the sun was up.  Jim took my mom and me to the airport and we arrived at 8:30 for a 9:55 flight.  We were glad we got there early.  They had my name wrong on the boarding pass, but luckily that was an easy fix.  We arranged for a wheelchair for mom, which got us quickly to the head of the security line.  Mom had to go through the scanning machine twice, and they also did a pat down, all because they saw something in her pocket, which turned out to be a wadded up kleenex.  Geez, she's 88 years old!  Once that terrorism threat was taken care of we got to the gate without further incident.

It was a good flight, and my sister picked us up at Lambert St. Louis Airport.  I took some pictures of the flooding in St. Louis area, and also the tornado damage at the airport.  I'll post them tomorrow.  After we got settled in at my sister's house our younger son Rick and his family arrived from the Chicago area.  It was a big surprise to mom.  Our older son Frank and family are coming tomorrow.  Mom had no idea she'd get to see her grandsons and great grandsons this weekend.  We had a great time visiting this evening.

It's very late and it's been a long day so this will be a short post.  It was quite a day and even more fun is planned for tomorrow.

Good for the TSA, catching your mom before she could wield that Kleenx and take over the plane!

Have a great time!
