(Raleigh, NC) Hi 76 Lo 45.... brrrr -- We both got cold in the middle of the night. I was glad I had the blanket handy at the end of the bed. It was great staying in bed awhile this morning.
Our tire saga continues... When Jim got up he did more calling around asking about tires. He fussed with that most of the day. He's having a hard time finding tires with enough load capacity for our rig, that are compatible with our rims, AND will fit in our wheel wells. By evening he decided to go ahead and upgrade both the tires and the wheels. Based on recommendations from other RV'ing friends he called an online company, Trailer Tires and Wheels, and discussed a package order for four Goodyear G114 H-Rated tires mounted and balanced on 17.5" wheels. He's 99% sure that's the way we should go, so he'll most likely call them back and place the order on Monday. They'll be delivered to a local tire store and be ready to install Wednesday or Thursday. The tires are rated for 4,800 lbs each, so we won't have any worries about having enough capacity. And it turns out that wheel and tire combination is the same diameter and slightly narrower than our current tires. We discussed this a lot. It will be more expensive but we feel the peace of mind will be worth it. We'll keep you posted.
I read blogs all day. It's great catching up on everyone and where they are located. I noticed there's more that have locations added to the side bar or to the first couple lines of their blogs. That's so great. There's another couple near us so I'm hoping to see them before we leave. What a great life being on the road.
We picked up mom for dinner and headed to one of our favorite spots, Smithfields Chicken 'n Barbecue. They have excellent fried chicken, which is what we all ordered.
Today all that was on TV was the royal wedding and damage reports in the southeast from tornadoes. We watched some recorded shows. We always have recorded shows to watch on our DVR.
The last few times we've moved we've had to really think about where we are. The inside of the RV is always the same but when you walk out the door the mind plays tricks and you have to sometimes think where you are and where you're going. I'm glad I keep a blog so we can reference some of the good places we ate or stores we liked when we return to locations we've been.
The week is turning out to be fun. We have plans to meet with several RV'ers and friends, and we're getting doctor appointments scheduled, and of course the tires. Thanks for following.

Our dog can sure relate to the mind games associated with changing locations. No sooner does she get used to turning right to go "check her mail," when she has to start turning left. :-)
Glad you arrived safely... we are headed out tomorrow but not going to far. Sticking around North Florida, Georgia & Alabama this year.
Have fun & Travel safe
