Trip to Tampa to See Rv'ing Friends

(Wauchula, FL) Hi 84 Lo 62 – One great thing about full time RV'ing is you get to meet friends at different times and in different places along your journeys. We were up early and excited to go to Tampa today to see two couples we’ve met before.

Sherri and Joe (aka Speedy), and Anna andGale

We met these two couples online back in 2007 on the RV-Dreams chatroom. Then we physically met Joe and Sherri at the RV-Dreams rally in Branson, MO in June, 2008. We haven’t seen them since then but we've kept up with them by avidly reading their blog, Somewhere In Time.  We've also touched base often via emails and phone calls. We met Gale and Anna when they visited us in Raleigh, NC when we were beginning our RV'ing life, and then our paths crossed again last summer in Illlinois when we were visiting our son and they were passing through in their Alfa class A motorhome.

Joe and Sherri live in Texas where they both work. They have lived in a beautiful Carriage Carri-Lite fifth wheel for the past few years. Since we also own a Carriage product Jim called and emailed Joe several times for advice on maintenance and other rig-related issues. They made the trip to Tampa to trade in their fifth wheel and truck for a brand new Tiffin Allegro Open Road motorhome.  Even though they've been on a hectic schedule of paperwork and moving their belongings from their old home to their new, they made time for us today. Gale and Anna came over from where they're staying in St. Petersburg and we all met up for lunch at Cracker Barrel then went over to see the new home. Their old and new rigs were parked next to each other so they could easily move all their stuff.

We visited with them for a few hours then helped them move some of their household stuff from the basement of the fifth wheel to the new motorhome.

Anna and Gale left around mid-afternoon and we stayed a while longer and talked. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we hated to leave, and then it was time for dinner. Went to a nearby Bob Evans to eat, then back to the motor home for some more visiting and talking about future plans and meeting up next year. Finally it was getting late, so after hugs all around we regretfully left them to enjoy their new home and drove back to Wauchula. Thanks so much everyone for a great day!

14 days left till we head north.

That's great that you could all get together and help Sherry and Joe get moved to the new house! Sort of like when we were younger and helped friends move -- only with a little less heavy lifiting and probably less beer! lol

I will have to thank you for all your help...but most of all I want to thank you for your friendship. It is not everyday that you make friends that last as long as our fiendship has. I know that for years to come we will make many memories together.
