No Visiting Today - A Simple Call is All That's Needed

(Wauchula, FL) Hi 84 Lo 53 --  We were to have a visitor today, but about mid morning he called us to say his tow vehicle was stuck in sand and he was waiting for a tow truck to pull him out.

A phone call can mean so much. It's one of my pet peeves, when people are late, not coming or something beyond their control happens and they don't call. I'm a worry wart.  I worry about people a lot, those that aren't where they're suppose to be at the time given.  All it takes is a call.  Our kids were grounded if they didn't call to say they were going to be home late.  I didn't mind KNOWING where they were or why they were late, but if there was no call it was really upsetting when they didn't show up on time.  Thank you Dave for calling. We'll see you tomorrow.

It was another quiet "retired" type of day today. I chatted online with my mom, walked the park, and played shuffleboard. Jim did his power walk and then climbed under the RV and did a close up inspection of all four tires, looking for any cracks or bubbles in the sidewalls. We're not happy with the brand or rating of the tires that came with our unit (E-rated Duros, made in China). Jim really keeps an eye on them and makes sure they're always properly inflated. But he says the first sign of any problems he's going to swap them for G-rated Goodyear 614's. They seem to be the most popular tires for heavy fivers.

Florida Trivia:  During the 1991 Gulf War the busiest military port in the country was Jacksonville. From this location the military moved more supplies and people than any other port in the country

11 more days till we head North.

Newcomers Meeting - Zoom - Emerald Coast Band

Shalimar, FL  (Hi 64  Lo 40)   This week went so slow. When you're retired the days get all mixed up and some go so slow you skip a day...
