Alligators – Snakes - Armadillos

(Wauchula, FL) Hi 82 Lo 66 --  A good night's sleep, finally.  We both had plans today but we didn’t move very fast to get any of them started.   After the morning routine of blogs, emails, news, and of course the Eagle Cam and now the Hummingbird Cam, it was time to get moving at noon.

I did my walk and Jim fired up the truck and drove it to the library. He makes sure he takes a drive in the truck at least once every couple of weeks or so, just to make sure it's running ok. While he was gone I went to play shuffle board. I found out with all the rain we had yesterday we now have some water in our small creek, and our resident alligator is making some appearances. During our shuffleboard games it would come out from inside the culvert it hides in, then someone would motion for us to come see it and it would disappear.  This is the creek; it runs through the park.

Finally it sticks up its head.

He's just a little guy, but it doesn't take much to entertain folks in an RV park. :)

Another culvert. This guy has seen one several times, but when we got there it had gone inside.

We also have some armadillos that come out after sundown.  I’m going to go searching tonight.  Along with them there’s several species of snakes in the area, some poisonous.  We haven’t seen any yet, and we don’t want to either.

Today was fun and informative, and we had a good time outside most of the day. Be sure to check back tomorrow. We have plans to make it a “wild” day.

Florida Trivia: Gatorade was named for the University of Florida Gators where the drink was first developed.

7 more days till we head North.

I really wasn't sure I wanted to read this post by the title but I took a chance. Glad you didn't see any snakes and hope there are none lurking about somewhere. LOL
