Goodbye to Neighbors – Perfect Day

(Mayport, FL) –  Before turning in last night I turned out the interior lights of the RV and watched several ships leave port.  With all the lights on them it was a beautiful sight.  A lighted parade at times.  I’m sure some were shrimp boats and some were cargo ships, but all you could see were lights.

We watched our neighbors pack up to head out this morning.  We hope to meet up with them again soon.  Have fun with your winter travels Karen and Collins, we’ll miss you.

Because of the happenings in the news about the explosive packages they're finding, there's more security around today.  When a sub left this morning there were a couple of Coast Guard gun boats keeping watch in the inlet.  Jim found a wonderful site to follow what’s coming in and out of the port.  Wish we knew about it at the beginning of the week.

There was very little traffic today.

We sat outside this morning but the wind was just a little too cool and the sun wasn’t up enough to warm up the area behind the RV.  We came back inside and I sat in my favorite location. Nice place to be to watch the dolphins too. They played the entire day.

By noon it was a perfect 80 degrees, a nice breeze and very little humidity. We walked the beach.  It’s getting easier, so I’m hoping I can do a lot of walking this winter.  Everyday is different.  There were lots of people swimming and surfing today, because it's the weekend.

The rest of the afternoon we met new neighbors that pulled in, and then watched the NASCAR Craftsman Truck race.

Another day in paradise.

Keep an eye on those Coast Guard gunboats! Wish I was out there with them, now I "sail" a desk.

The young kids have all the fun.

I'm looking forward to traveling someday to a place where I will be able to see dolphins in the wild.

I've seen them at Sea World, but never in an Ocean.
