It's a Little Buggy

(Fair Oaks, IN) - This was sent to me by email today.

It's a little hard to read. It says:

AT MY AGE
I've seen it all
Done it all
Heard it all
I just can't remember
IT ALL

The temperature was about 83 with a little breeze and 67% humidity.  We didn’t do much today but fight off bugs.  Little bugs.  We both went walking and we both fought those little gnats and flies.  We tried to sit outside and we had more bugs. After about 15 minutes we came inside, it was just too buggy.  Some of them followed us inside because all afternoon  we were bothered by gnats.  I hope they're not finding some way in besides the door.  I sprayed bug spray around the air return vents and around the windows.

We've been thinking about the difference between “campers” and full timers.  Most people that camp on weekends can deal with the bugs. We as full timers want the comforts of home but yet move around.  We watch the campers come in, set up, start a fire and will be outside almost the whole time.  We go out for our walks and that’s it.  It's either too hot, too cold, or too buggy.   Conditions have to be just right for us to enjoy sitting outside.  We’re loving the experience in the RV, but neither of us are “campers."  We laugh when we tell people we live full time in an RV and they say, "Oh, you mean you live in a camper??"

It was cloudy all afternoon, but no rain. Jim did the laundry and I cleaned the rig.  The campground owner is putting down fresh gravel on the entrance road and working on the roof of the office.  He and his wife are always busy doing something to improve the campground, which is nice.

Another "do nothing" day, but we’re planning on getting out some the rest of the week.

It didn't take me but a few months of fulltiming to discover that I am definitely a camper. I think that is what I loved most about Lassen, was living outdoors.

I love to be outside, in the shade, when it is 76 degrees, with a slight breeze, and no bugs, rain, or loud neighbors. Other than that I would stay indoors most of the time too!

Oh, I forgot, low humidity!

Denise, We're right there with you as RVers not campers. We don't handle the bugs, the heat, or the humidity well either. It doesn't mean we're anti-social, just like our comforts, too. We look forward to the spring and fall for outside activities, even if it's just sitting under our awning!
