Changed Our Minds -- Showing RV

(Fair Oaks, IN) - We changed our minds about taking a little trip today and, except for our daily walks, just stayed at the RV.  The temperature was climbing fast and the humidity with it.  Neither of us felt like going anywhere.  Now that's retirement.

We had a couple of guests today. Trevor, one of the park workers, was working on the white fence next to our site and asked if he could see the inside of our RV.  I always try to be ready for unexpected guests so I invited him in.  He's from England and wanted to know what we like about our "caravan" (that's what they call RVs on the other side of the Atlantic).  He was amazed at how big it is, and explained that he could never have one this big on the tiny roads in England.  He really liked how ours was laid out. We explained some of the features that are important to us, like the easy access to the refrigerator and the bathroom/bedroom with the slides in.  He loved it.

Later in the day a neighbor, Bonnie, came knocking on the door.  A couple of days ago we saw a very nice looking Class C RV come in with a lone woman driving it.  I just had to meet her, so last evening I went to her rig and we had a nice conversation.  She stopped by today to see our rig and to meet Jim.  Bonnie is a "solo" and has been on the road for four years.  She loves it.  She's a cyclist, so she searches out parks that are near bike paths.  She'll stay at a park for 2-3 days, ride the bike paths, then move on.  We loved to hear her tales.  She may go to the Escapade in September and might look into getting with the Solo BOF (Birds of a Feather) group.  I'm so glad we got to meet and spend some time with her.  I hope we'll see her again down the road.

We didn't do much else today. I wanted to get some geocaches loaded onto my GPS, but the site is down for maintenance.

I'm having a lot of problems leaving comments on blogs, so if you haven't heard from me in awhile that's the reason.
