One month ago today, we went to Claremont, NC to pick up the RV. It seems so long ago, and we're loving every minute of it. We're both feeling like we've been in it for six months. It wasn't full time at first, at least we didn't stay at night but we were in it all day. We actually moved in full time on 16th, but we're counting the 10th as our anniversary.Today was all about selling the rest of our "stuff". I had four different items on Craigslist, there were 32 people that responded with "hold that item for me", and some that said they'd be there.
Now my gripe: This is our third time we've worked with Craigslist but I was nervous with everyone coming at the same time and getting into it with each other. We were up very early ate out and got to the apartment by 9:30. I set the time for 10:00- 5:00. People started coming about 11:00. One by one, it was timed great. The first person was for the microwave which she was the ONLY one that wanted it. So far so good. Then a guy came for the bookcase, he wasn't the one that said he would be there and to put his name on it to hold it. I was going to hold it, but I've learned people don't show up then I'm stuck. I let the first guy get it and out the door he went.
The beads were going to be the hard thing. The first woman came that teaches kids crafts. She bought almost the whole thing. A second woman bought part of another batch of bulk beads and someone called from 40 minutes away that was coming for beads in the meantime someone else came for beads. Luckily she didn't get the whole thing and there was enough for both ladies. Later in the afternoon the guy that told me to put his name on the bookcase showed up. He wasn't angry, but he wasn't very happy that I didn't hold it for him. I told him I wasn't going to take a chance of him not coming and I was sorry.
The others that said they'd be there for the sofa and dining table never showed up, and we didn't sell it today. So, we'll try again in the next four weeks to see if we get them sold.
Jim got the base part for the 32" TV and we still have that to sell. All in all we did very well. We're both very tired tonight so we had pizza came back to the RV and crashed.

Congratulations on getting so much sold today. Every little bit helps. We still have items in our climate controlled storage building I would love to get rid of. Not so easy when it gets there.

It sounds like you had a very productive day! Glad that so much left with new owners. And yes, don't hold things, first come first get--- so you are not left hanging. Been there, done that.
