(Lake Ariel, PA) Hi 80 Lo 42 -- This will be a short blog because we're having a lot of trouble staying connected to the internet. Today we took a drive around Scranton. It's a small to medium size city that has a small town look and feel to it. It doesn't have a real "downtown" with large buildings, and it's very hilly, with the Pocono Mountains all around. It was nice driving through the many ethnic neighborhoods that you see in northern cities. We passed through an Italian neighborhood, a Greek neighborhood, and even a Lithuanian neighborhood. But sad to say, we didn't see any sign of the Dunder-Miflin Paper Company. (Fans of the TV show The Office will understand that last sentence.) We took some pictures, but we don't have a good enough connection to post them. Maybe we'll post a few when we get our next location.
Tomorrow evening we're going to meet some friends for dinner. We're looking forward to that!

Dee - the sign on the tower says "Penn Paper" now I believe (the tower that is on the intro to the show). See link below for a picture.
You should eat at Cooper's Seafood. It was mentioned in the show quite a bit and they recreated the restaurant on the set. When we went, they had a Dwight Shrute beet salad! It is just a cool place with a lot of retro memorabilia.
Here are a bunch of Scranton landmarks mentioned on the show up for visiting: http://theoffice.wikia.com/wiki/Scranton

When we travel we have a Verizon Hotspot and so far, we have good connections with it in remote places.
Scranton is Sam's hometown, his family is still there, so we know it well...most streets are so narrow you feel like the paint is going to peel off everytime you go by someone.
Oh yeah, should have mentioned Cooper's. Jim can get a free dinner on his birthday :)
Don't forget to get to the Steamtown National Park, you can usually ride a steam powered train. Sam....
