Shalimar, FL ( Hi 63 Lo 27) that's on 1/30/26 The lowest predicted is weekend is 19 degrees
I haven't watched TV shows for four years. It's just something that Jim and I did, but can't do it anymore. I kept hearing from people about Landman, so now I'm binge watching it and loving it. I end up staying up half the night. I'm hoping to finish it up next week.
I've been busy with the same things. Nothing new except three things to do on Wednesday at the same time. I had cards, Hand Knee and Foot, which I haven't done in awhile, crochet group in Niceville, and crafts of all kinds. Just as I was going out the door for cards I get a call for needing help with the newsletters. Fold and insert. There were only two of us doing 640 bulletins. We did it in two hours. I even had time to do the crafts. I love having something to do, but like doing them all and decisions have to be made isn't easy.
I had 5 zoom meetings this week. That's with just talking with people and doing classes. The line up of things I did this week, WII bowling, Diamond art, meditation (which I led this week) topic was life review.
Thursday was a bit different. I had a massage and chiropractor appointment. They both keep the body from hurting so much from arthritis.
It's puzzle month and we laid out a puzzle in the lounge for puzzle "day". There were three of us that showed up and we had it done that evening, it was 550 pieces. This puzzle is so pretty. I wanted to order it, but the postage was $42. The puzzle is $15. Nope, dropped the idea.
The neighbor had a puzzle out and we both have worked on it. Big pieces and didn't take long.
I got Tigger from Winnie the Pooh done and delivered.
Friday I had nothing planned. I did get ready with finding the flashlights, and blankets just in case we lose power with the frigid vortex that's going to hit tomorrow. It's going to be cold this weekend. I'll report lowest temperature next weeks blog. I'm so glad I bought all my warm clothes and boots for Alaska trip, I'm using it in Florida, go figure. I had NC zoom call to see how they're doing in Raleigh. (They have about six to nine inches)
Saturday I was up by 9:30, but it was already cold. It dropped all day to a high of 32 and as I'm writing it's 27 and still dropping 2 degrees every 3 hours. We had a 2 1/2 hour no electricity this afternoon. I tried out my Jackery and got the phone charged up. That's good, I figured out how to do it. I need to get a small camping stove and I'll be set for long term outages. The wind was 25mph and that's why the power went out, so said the outage on FPL. I watched the storm chasers on all day long for storms on the east coast, when I had power. I got hold of Jim's family in Morehead City, NC, they're doing well and it's still snowing. The waves are battering the coast again in Kill Devil Hills off Highway 12. Lots going on today. I went to social hour with five of us talking about weather and the cold.
I do have some news, I renewed my ham license and bought another mobile HT. For those that know ham, this is a Yaesu dual band. Now to remember how to use it.
