Visit with Son - Dr. Appointment - Board of Directors Luncheon - Rummage Sale and More

Shalimar, FL    (Hi  82   Lo 71)

Sunday was fabulous. My younger son Rick and Tammy came to Navarre for a wedding. They were only half hour from me, so I had Sunday breakfast with them. Perfect trip, (I didn't get turned around) and perfect time! They were on the way to the airport after breakfast. Thank you for letting me know you were here. It was so great to see you.  (Click on photos to enlarge).

Monday:  Wii bowling was first thing in the morning. I took another lady shopping for our donations to the USO at the airport. That didn't take long, so I sat outside with a few of the residents in the fresh air.

Tuesday: I finally got to see the doctor. I wanted a few things checked since I was so sick for a month. He checked my lungs and didn't find anything wrong, breath was free and no wheezing. I still can't hear from the plane ride home, but that takes sometimes a couple months but no infection, so I need to wait longer for it to open. I passed the blood tests so fine and be back in six months. I got back home in time for the meditation group. Right after that was over,  I helped several people with phones, tablets, and computers on many problems they have and downloading apps. I'm working with another computer guru every month. Nice full day and learned a lot.

Wednesday: I had circle of life with two villages and it's the end of workshops for this year. I start a series next year with advanced workshop of end of life paperwork. Get it done and live your fullest knowing you'll be taken care of after you pass. I played cards for the first time since leaving for Alaska so it's been awhile. I did remember how to play and stayed for all three games. I also got caught up with everyone and what's going on in the village.   Village 4 has some great Halloween decorations.

Thursday: The morning started with meeting with the members of the board for lunch. We sat with one of the guys that hopes to become a new member so he didn't know very much but did take our suggestions and questions. When that was over I went to crochet and while there I took an hour and listened to death cafe from California. I learn so much from those around the world about and what people do at end of life. When I got back home I helped a couple people with new computer and tablet. I did a factory reset on a tablet and it worked. I'm proud I could do that, another learning experience.

Friday: I had to get up early for ground breaking for our new building 7. It's supposed to be finished in 16 months. It was another neat experience. When it was over I went to the commons for the bake sale and rummage sale. There was a ton of stuff. I stayed a few hours went home for lunch and got a few computer things done. I went back and waited for everyone to clear out then time for my haircut. I LOVE the cut. This one I can deal with so took a picture and will keep it on the phone for next time.  Friday night zoom with the NC friends was next.

Our Village one bake sale
Saturday:  I was up and over to the commons for more time with rummage sale. Today was for outsiders, yesterday was only for residents. It's funny, they take stuff from one apartment to another apartment in the same village. There wasn't as many people as last year. It was all over by noon. I had some lunch and started on cleaning the patio. I have mold starting and wanted to get it taken care of before it gets unmanageable. I couldn't stand long with the power washer so came in and did some computer work for this weeks events.

I had social hour which we did at 5:00 outside. The weather has been so perfect lately. It's supposed to rain tomorrow. I'll have another busy week for next week's blog.
