Early Fireworks - Meeting Up With Friends

(Scott AFB, Belleville, IL) Hi  88 Lo 75 --  Saturday night there was a big fireworks show in the nearby small town of Shiloh. It's a week before the July 4th celebrations, but a local fireworks company is celebrating 50 years in business so they decided to give the locals an early fireworks show. It was a full 25 minutes long and very spectacular! It was held in a town park and there was a good turn out.

Kyle, Hunter, Kim, Angie, Kendall, Dee and Jim. Kim and Hunter are Angie's sister-in-law and niece.

We tried to get some pictures of the fireworks, but they didn't turn out very good :(

Sunday we went to church and lunch with the kids. We had storms south of us but the rain managed to miss us.

Today we had our annual lunch meeting with Steve, an old workmate of Jim's from when we lived here in the 80's and 90's. On the way there we saw this beautiful old church.

We had a great visit with Steve, spending over two hours talking about current events and what's going on in our lives. We forgot to get a picture of him, but here's one from when we saw him last year.

After lunch we stopped by to see my friend Ruth. She was babysitting her grandson William, and is he ever a cutie!

It was great to see Ruth again. We're going to try to get together again before we leave.

We have a week to go before moving on. See you in a few days.

Newcomers Meeting - Zoom - Emerald Coast Band

Shalimar, FL  (Hi 64  Lo 40)   This week went so slow. When you're retired the days get all mixed up and some go so slow you skip a day...
