Meeting New Friends – Wineries – Weather

(Edwardsville, IL) Hi 68 Lo 62 -- I left for my sister Doris's house in Troy, MO on Sunday afternoon. We had a couple of fun days together. On the way to her place I met with Nancy and Renee, two friends from the RV-Dreams.com chatroom.

We had a great time visiting and chatting (face to face this time instead of electronically). The weather started getting worse and it was getting foggy so we parted with hugs and I continued to my sister's.

Early Monday morning storms started coming through the area. We had a girls' day out planned  for a driving tour of the wine region around Hermann, MO. We weren’t going to let some bad weather ruin our fun. Doris's friends Sandy, Cindy and Judy joined us and the five of us had a wonderful time.

Our first stop was the Stone Hill Winery.

It’s good to do wine tasting on a full tummy so we all had lunch in their excellent restaurant. We've been there before, and the food is great. The fun and laughter has begun!

It rained off and on most of the way to Hermann, but it let up and we didn’t have much the rest of the afternoon.

Next was the Adam Puchta Winery

Our third stop was Hermannof Winery.

We’re still doing pretty well at this point.

Fourth was a small mom and pop winery in the middle of nowhere. It’s a great little place with lots of atmosphere, and they hope to make some space for RV boondocking in the next year or so.

Ok, so now I forgot to change the exposure on the camera.

The clouds were starting to look wicked so we decided to make that our last stop. Doris had driven several miles between wineries and it was getting late. On the way home we saw some gorgeous fall colors as the leaves are starting to turn.

The clouds were bad looking east. When we got back to my sisters we learned there were several tornado warnings and damage over in Illinois.

Despite the weather it turned out to be a wonderful day of food, wine, and laughs. When we got back to Doris's we said goodbye to my three new friends and settled in for a relaxing evening.

Jim had his own fun while I was gone. To keep this post from going on too long, he'll tell you about his day tomorrow. Until then, here's a teaser.

Any day and any where, when you are with good friends, it will be a good day.

I'm impressed that you made it to 4 wineries! I don't think I would have lasted that long :)
I love fun days like that with friends.

You can never visit to many wineries.
