(Cataldo, ID) Hi 82 Lo 57 -- This is a nice small campground that’s on a fork of the Coeur d’Alene river. It’s privately owned and has cement pads, so you’re very level. The Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes runs right past the park. (Click on the photos to enlarge them.)

There are mountains all around us. The scenery is very similar to the Smoky Mountains back in North Carolina.
The bathhouse
The Couer d’Alene river, which you can swim in. The water is very clear.
That's I-90 about a half mile upriver.
The Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes goes 72 miles from Idaho's border with Washington east to the Montana border. The park is about in the middle, which makes it a great place for people to camp over night and continue the next day.
Looking east down the trail.
And looking west.
We see a lot of bikers come and go on the trail. Here’s some pictures of overnighters.
The park is a great place to stay in the beautiful Coeur d'Alene Mountains of Northern Idaho.
The park owners told us a good place for lunh is the Enaville Inn/Snakepit, which is about eight miles away. Today we went to check it out. It was built in 1880 and was originally a house of ill repute. They used to have lodging but now it's just a bar and restaurant. We liked the rustic decorations, and the food was great.
Antlers on the patio.
Tomorrow we're off to Montana. See you in two days.

Have a great visit while in your here in Montana. Weather hasn't been too bad this summer so hopefully that will continue for you.
You seem to always find great places to camp. I guess it is the result of great planning.
Many happy memories of the Snakepit and Coeur d'Alene River--
