(Darien, GA) Hi 68 Lo 50 -- Before leaving Huntington Bch State Park today we had an appointment for Howard and Linda to weigh our truck and RV at one of the large parking lots on the other side of the park. They do official RV weighings for the RV Safety and Educational Foundation (RVSEF). Jim and Judy also arranged to have their rig weighed. First we drove our trucks over to be weighed without the RV. Then we returned to our sites, hitched up, dumped our tanks at the dump station, and reported to have the RV and truck weighed together.
Jim and Judy's Cardinal being weighed. Tumbleweed is waiting in line.
We drive up onto these special scales, one for each wheel.
We had a good report. We're under all our weight limits, except for the left front wheel on the RV, which is a little over. Also, the total weight of the RV is over the GCWR (gross combined weight rating). However, we've had larger wheels and tires installed, and we're under our axle ratings. So overall we feel good.
The hardest thing to do this morning was saying goodbye to everyone. Half of the Carolina Clan left today. We had lots of hugs and farewells. The good thing is, a lot of them are going to Florida this winter so hopefully we'll see them again soon. Thanks everyone for a great time.
We traveled 247 miles today to Darien, GA, making just one rest stop. We got to Inland Harbor RV Park, just off I-95, at 3:00. We stayed here in 2010 on our first trip to Florida for the RV driving school. We’re in a pull-thru site, and we left the truck hitched up and only connected to the electric and cable TV. We didn't even hook up the water hose. We always keep some water in our fresh water tank for times like this. We want a quick get away in the morning.

We got setup just in time to watch the NASCAR race. Tonight we'll catch up on some recorded TV shows.
