HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

(Avon Park, FL) Hi 69 Lo 49 -- Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. We're so thankful for our wonderful life, and for our family and friends.

It was windy today and the wind was playing havoc on the awning, which made the RV rock a bit, so we rolled it up. Luckily the sun blocker rolls right up with the awning so it's fast, in case of a quick storm, which we get quite a bit in Florida.

We're having Thanksgiving dinner here in the park so I went over to the clubhouse late this morning with Kathleen to put out our plates so we can sit with her and Jon. I helped with some of the decorations then came back to the RV. Jim and I both talked with our families by phone, which was really nice. We also read, and I chatted online with a few friends.

Dinner was scheduled for 2:00. We went over a little early to wander around the room and socialize before dinner. The park managers provided the turkey and the residents brought all the side dishes and desserts. I made an apple salad. About 160 folks attended. (Click on pictures to enlarge them.)

The food was wonderful. With incredible self control I managed to get comfortably full, but Jim got stuffed! :)  We went back to the RV and sat for awhile, then Kathleen and I walked the park while Jim watched football (and dozed) in his recliner. I'm trying hard to walk at least mile a day. We plan to be very busy now that the park is starting to fill up and the activities are picking up.

After some more rest we went to the clubhouse for some cards. I hope everyone had a great day.

It sounds like it would feel good to walk a mile after eating a big meal. I'm hoping to get back to walking just a little bit at a time.
