Restful Sunday, Flea Market

(Jacksonville, Fl) Hi 86 Lo 68 -- We said so long Karen and Al as they were on their way this morning to Tampa. They'll be here in Florida for the winter so we’ll see them again once we get moved down to our winter site in Avon Park.

We took a walk around the park last evening and met a lady who owns an RV that's had so many mechanical problems that she decided to "advertise" her plight. (Click on photos to enlarge.)

It's a 2011 Monaco brand that she bought brand new. She's had absolutely no relief from either her dealer or the manufacturer. She travels with her invalid brother and hearing her story was heartbreaking. She's had slide out problems, electrical problems, walls come apart, lights that stay on (her left rear tail light was blinking while we were talking to her), engine problems, and many more problems too numerous to remember. Monaco went out of business before being resurrected by Navistar Corp. She thinks her unit was built by disgruntled employees right before the factory initially closed. We feel so sorry for her and hope she eventually gets some relief.

While Jim watched his sports on TV I walked around the park, then walked over to the flea market that’s next door to the park. It’s huge! They had the normal flea market stuff, and I thought I'd find a Florida t-shirt, but no luck. It's an indoor flea market, with two very large buildings next to each other.

The pool was inviting, but no one was around and I won’t go in water anywhere without someone else around. There was no one outside either, just way too hot.

There's a small fishing lake on the edge of the park.

I came in before the clouds started rolling in and then we had our afternoon rain shower. I watched the NASCAR race and read blogs. We had a quiet evening and then got the little things ready for our move to South Carolina in the morning.

I don't often stay in a campground with a pool, but if it is hot and sticky, I do go in with no one around. I don't do anything crazy in the water, but it is sure nice to cool down. :)

That poor lady. New rigs come with their share of problems but she has had way more than that. Jim would love to cool off at that fishing pond.
