Moochdocking

(Beaufort, NC) Hi 70 Lo 56 -- We got up early to get over to Camping Connection to have our slide checked. We were only a few minutes away and we got there a little early, so we had to wait for the tech guys to get there. Two guys assessed the situation and determined that we do indeed need a new slide motor.

We'll be back in the Myrtle Beach area at the end of this month so we made an appointment for Oct 31 to have the new motor installed. After less than an hour we were on our way, but not before we had breakfast at a MacDonalds next door to the service facility.

We had a smooth 4-hour trip to Beaufort, NC. We come here once a year to visit with Jim's family. Jim's sister Sharon and her boyfriend Jimmy are kind enough to let us "moochdock" in their front yard. (Moochdock is the term for parking for free in someone's yard or driveway.) We'll be here about 10 days. This is a beautiful area with lots of water around us, and we always enjoy coming back.

This is our setup in Jimmy and Sharon's front yard. Jimmy's Fleetwood Bounder Class A motorhome is to the right in his driveway. We have water and 30-amp electric.

On our left side across the street is one of the back bays of Bogue Sound.

We're looking forward to some quality family time during the next 10 days. Jim's mom is nearby, as well as his other sister Robin. And his brother John and his family may come up from Wilmington, NC for a visit this weekend. We'll also be doing some sightseeing while we're here. But after three straight days on the road it will be nice just to stay for awhile in one place.

Uh oh. Moochdocking is no longer politically correct.

It is now GAFH, "Gladly Accepting Family's (or Friend's) Hospitality. ;c)

You say tomato, I'' say tomatoe...

A new choice for "Words with Friends"!
